The Tyranid Hive Fleets



A  swarm of Gargoyles overwhelm Imperial guardsmen.
The Red Terror assaults an Imperial infantry platoon.
The Zoanthrope, a  powerful psyker, attemps to  rip apart a guardsman's mind with it's telepathic powers.



The Tyranid Hive Fleets are tearing through the galaxy, consuming everything in their path. With massive swarms of small creatures like termagaunts and hormaguants to overwhelm enemy infantry, while the larger creatures(Carnifex,Hive Tyrant, Lictor ect.) destroy enemy armor. The Tyranid are a close-combat oriented force. However this does not mean that they can't fight at range. The  barbed strangler can eliminate entire groups of infantry with it's ordance blast and the venom cannon can destroy even the strongest models. so overall the Tyranid are a strong, fast and fierce force to be reckoned with.



Fear: A Powerful Weapon

Fear is an imporant asset to every Tyranid players game. The enemy is likely to panic and rush his moves. Always be prepared for this. If you take advantage of this it could win you the game!

Strengths :
One the Tyranid's greatest strengths is their close combat abilities. It is widely known that genestealers are almost unbeatable in close combat and hormagaunts are fast enough to get into close comat before the enemy even knows what hit them. They also possess deadly elite,HQ and heavy support units(Carnifex, Hive Tyrant, Warriors, Zoanthrope ect.). These beasts can soak up enourmous amounts of punishment and deal out even more! Some of these creatures also serve a sort of tank role by carrying the most powerful weapons(venom cannon, barbed strangler) which they use to destroy enemy armor and large clusters of troops. 
Mutatable Genus: A Fun Advantage.
Having the ability to upgrade the stats of large groups of creatures is an advantage only the Tyranid possess. You can upgrade Carifexes, Hive Tyrants, Warriors, Hormagaunts, Termagaunts and ripper swarms. You can upgarde all stats, including WS and BS and even speed!! Use this abilty to talior your army to fit your playing style, whether it be range, speed, or close combat!
Weaknesses:
 If the Tyranid have one standout weakness, it's their lack of long range support.three of there six weapons has a range of 12"! And Although the venom cannon is powerful and has a range of 36" it can onley be carried by a few units, meaning that most weapons( ordance, rocket launchers, lascannons ect.) will hit your units before they even blink!  You can try to counter this by taking advantage of cover,  mutating  your models with extended carapace(+ 1 to your armor save ) or warp field(  + 2 armor save).  Your opponent will also try to kill you snysapse creatures to disrupt your swarm with instinctive behavior. This is a common stratagey so be prepared! If you have enough points then purchase a tyrant guard to protect your Hive Tyrant. They are worth the cost! If you think your snysapse creatures aregoing to be killed then mutate a few of you creatures with hive node( upgrades broods leadership value to 10) to give them a good chance to ignore instinctive behavior.
